The Brotique team are looking to add a few part and full-time members to start ASAP and help us out with our busiest time of year!

We are a diverse team here, and are always looking out for people with interests and personal style that will fit in with what we do here and add a fresh look to our team. 

The Brotique is an independent mens store based on Queen Street, we are a small team of young professionals with various backgrounds and interests. Our main aim is to source great products from independent and ethical brands to bring something new to the high street, we want to provide excellent customer care both online and in store. Here’s a description of what we’ll need from you while you’re with us:

  • Provide excellent customer service to everyone who walks through our door, from the undecided gift buyer to the regular customer who wants in and out quick.

  • Some serious gift wrapping skills.

  • Help keep up with our online orders, there will be quite a few.

  • Work the till.

  • Assist on stock takes and keep the stock room as tidy as possible.

  • Facing up at the start and end of each day, making sure our store is full to the brim.

 

We’re not too fussy about your background, but there are a few things that are absolutely essential.

  • Prior experience of retail in a similar environment, in a customer facing role.

  • Being approachable and conversational with all of our customers.

  • Ability to take direction and follow instruction from the store manager in a timely manner.

  • A flexible schedule and the availability to work evenings, weekends and events.

  • Able to work in a busy environment and stay cool under pressure.

  • A lot of this role will be autonomous, so after your training period we would expect you to be able to take initiative and know the products well.

  • Some knowledge of the fashion and grooming industry, you will be trained but it’s good to know the basics.

  • Confidence to answer our enquiries inbox and communicate with suppliers.

Full Stack Developer @ The Brotique

 

 

SUMMARY

 

We are looking for a Full-Stack Developer to work directly with the founder and the designer on our web/mobile site. You will take ownership of our ambitious and ever growing plan for our e-commerce platform.

 

WHO ARE WE?

The Brotique has four key areas of progressive development, through outstanding customer care, fanatical sourcing, deep relationships with our suppliers and building the best environment we can both instore and online.

We established as a pop-up during 2013, in Stockbridge, however the store quickly took on a life of it’s own, so much so that we opened our current space just before Christmas 2014. We’re now building towards our ambition of being the definitive men's store, essentially a department store for men’s goods. We are developing exciting projects across both the physical and digital stores (both bricks & clicks as we call it), as well as developing our own range of goods.

It is our goal to offer an unparalleled retail experience across “bricks & clicks” and we need some new team members to help us reach that goal.



WHAT YOU'LL DO

 

As the first in-house web developer to join our small team, you’ll be excited about the level of ownership that this role offers. You will share in our hunger and excitement to see our business grow, take pleasure in heading new projects that we are itching to get started on and joining us to achieve our goals. You will have a strong passion for development and e-commerce, and be keen to face exciting, new challenges head on. You will likely have have great experience in e-commerce (and m-commerce) and be eager to use your knowledge to help make our offering and customer experience even stronger. With our ambition to take advantage of the shift towards mobile-first e-commerce, your expertise will give us an edge in the gift buying market.

You will be focused on driving the ecom element of our business, and developing unique IP and code to give the business unique tools and resources to grow, and best serve our customers.

 

In joining our team at this early stage, you will be given the unique opportunity to play a great part in shaping the future and development of our company.

 

Examples of the projects you might work on include:

 

  • Establishing an e-commerce website

  • Developing software, code, apps and IP for the business

  • Site improvements to increase site visitors or conversion

  • Developing an existing e-ccommerce website

  • Adding new functionality to an ecommerce site

  • Integrating our systems with new software and services

  • Finding ways to continually improve site performance

  • General maintenance of ecommerce and brand sites

  • Reviewing site performance and providing inattentive thoughts and ideas on how we can make it better

On a typical project, you would:

  • Increase the capabilities, functionality and user experience of an ecommerce site

  • Developing new experiences and interactions for our clients

  • Generating ideas for how to meet business and customer needs

  • Carry out research and use test sites to see which ideas best suit our needs

  • Work with our designer on the appearance of the site

  • Make sure any developments integrate with our current e-commerce platform (shopify)

  • Testing the site under construction to find and fix any problems – or 'bugs' – before it goes live

  • Delivering a beautiful and functional aesthetic across a site.

ABOUT YOU

  • Strong background in HTML/CSS/JavaScript

  • Strong sense of design/aesthetic and passion for UX

  • Experience of ecommerce development

  • Mobile experience (e.g. responsive, adaptive) strongly preferred

  • Ability to work in a small, collaborative team, and to interact with/report into ‘business’ teams rather than purely technical teams

  • You will be expected and able to look after your own deadlines and deliverables.

  • Experience or knowledge of SEO

  • Skills in App development would be very useful to an upcoming project

  • Experience in using, integrating or developing CRM system would be valuable

STORE MANAGER @ THE BROTIQUE

WHAT YOU WILL DO

We’re looking for someone who can bring new skills and exceptional customer service to the team. Showcasing extraordinary dedication in conjunction to the development of the business and service standards.

We are still a youthful company, building our systems, experimenting with new ideas and therefore you should be excited about the ownership that this role offers. Your role will be a balance of looking after customers, building the business and innovating around the retail experience.

Sales are a critical part of retail, but we operate a strictly no high-pressure sales approach. We make sales by engaging meaningfully with the customer, sharing our knowledge and having brilliant stock. It will be a major part of your role to look after these areas.

We also want to increase our store awareness, through marketing, customer outreach and store events. So we’re looking for someone who’s excited to run events, connect with local communities and ensure that we’re well known.

 

Key Job Details

  • Uphold the standard of operations and exceed the expectations of our guests.

  • Dealing with customer service issues such as queries and complaints (the customer isn't always right, but most of the time they are)  

  • Refine and oversee stock control and receiving orders

  • Driving sales and increasing profits

  • Outreach for the store, including running or attending events.

  • A good team leader with responsibilities for; interviewing and recruiting new staff; hosting our weekly team meeting; organising rotas; and holidays.

  • Approachable, dependable and conversational

  • Good at accounting and IT

 

You will likely have 2-3 years experience and training in a client/customer facing role and will now be looking for a new challenge with more ownership and autonomy. We run a very flat structure and with a close team so you’ll be working equally with everyone in the company. Above all you will have a strong desire to see our business grow, and will work closely and collaboratively in line with the company’s aspirations.

ABOUT YOU

Previous training and experience in hospitality, retail or sales

Experience of stock management

Experience with building relationships with suppliers and business partners.

Ability to work in a small, collaborative team, and to interact with/report into ‘business’ teams rather than purely technical teams

 

An ability to work in a small collaboration

 

Happy to take on a role of responsibility and progress independently

 

In your element dealing with customers, both making sure they receive exceptional service and making sure any query they may have is quelled.

You don’t need to be able to code, but you should be comfortable with technology and happy to adapt to new programs and systems as they’re introduced.

•Good Computer Science degree from a leading university
